VMware Cloud on AWS has always been a critical approach for VMware to provide hybrid cloud computing to businesses. By deploying VMware software-defined data centers (SDDC) infrastructure on AWS, customers can instantly scale up or down capacity without having to manage the underlying infrastructure, so they can fully focus on their applications or services. Hybrid cloud also provides a strong measure of security; business-critical applications and data can be kept on-premises behind a company firewall, while basic and non-sensitive computing tasks remain on the public cloud.

For customers who still require on-premises infrastructure for reasons such as latency, business continuity, compliance, or cost, there is now another solution: VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts. This new As-a-Service, on-premises offering includes full VMware SDDC stack (vSphere, NSX, vSAN) which runs on AWS Outposts – configurable server and network installations built with AWS-designed hardware that is fully managed and maintained by AWS.

VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts uses the existing VMware Cloud Console to manage existing on-premises deployments and other VMware managed infrastructures. Once an SDDC is deployed on VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts, customers will be able to access the vSphere UI/API and its latest features and enhancements. VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts is resilient to transient network failures: in the event of lost network connectivity, VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts will continue to run by provisioning resources. AWS Services is also integrated within the hardware, allowing a subset or region-specific AWS Services to run locally.

As a VMWare Premier Partner with VMware Master Services Competencies for Data Center Virtualization, NetOne Asia is uniquely equipped with the skills and capabilities to deploy and implement VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts for your business. NetOne Asia’s consultants are trained to order, configure, and connect Outposts to your local power and network, as well as build, run, and validate apps using native AWS services on Outposts and services available in the local region. With a cloud managed SDDC, your business gains new levels of agility and resiliency.
